Michael G. Lacey, D.P.M.

Podiatrist & Foot & Ankle Surgeon located in Crown Point, IN & Munster, IN

About Dr. Lacey

A board-certified podiatrist and foot surgeon, Dr. Michael Lacey has over 10 years of experience helping patients in the Chicagoland area. With a special focus on building rapport with each patient, Dr. Lacey treats all of his patients at Orthopaedic Podiatric & Spine Institute, in Crown Point and Munster, Indiana, with the dignity and respect he expects his family to receive.

Along with traditional podiatry services, Dr. Lacey specializes in diabetic foot and wound care and has had success with synthetic skin grafts. He’s also trained in elective forefoot surgery, including bunion surgery, and has vast experience in foot trauma and care.

Growing up in Boston, Dr. Lacey knew he wanted to be a doctor when he enrolled in Connecticut’s Fairfield University on a pre-med track, but it wasn’t until his diabetic father almost lost his leg from a nail injury that he turned to podiatry. He then attended New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completed a three-year residency at Saint Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, New York, where he served as chief podiatry resident.

Beyond his passion for podiatry, Dr. Lacey is an avid sports fan, rooting for his home teams, the Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots. He’s also an animal lover and often talks to patients about his Wheaten terrier, Swiffer.
